The 14C-RK Emergency Kit packages all the basic radiation measurement tools needed to handle a radiological emergency into a convenient carrying case to facilitate a quick response when required. The kit includes the robust and versatile Model 14C Survey Meter, which houses an internal energy compensated GM tube to perform exposure rate measurements up to 2000 mR/hr. Responders can either plug in the external Model 44-9 alpha-beta-gamma GM pancake probe for contamination measurements or the Model 44-2 high-sensitivity gamma scintillation detector for locating the source of high readings. The transport and storage case supplied with the kit is foam-padded with custom cutouts for the instruments and is air- and water-tight. Also included are a 137Cs check source and a check source holder to verify proper operation of the equipment.
Ludlum offers several versions of pre-packaged response kits suitable for a wide variety of applications. If you desire more or different detectors, or other changes to our standard kits, please contact us regarding a customized kit.
